Activities on the property When we stay at the property we often make plans for various activities around Noosa and then end up staying at the property for the whole trip! Chilling out on the huge veranda watching the kangaroos takes a lot of effort as does dipping in and out of the pool. For people who insist on working out there is a tennis court and half sized basketball court. There is also a bush walk (go to the gate, turn left and follow the perimeter of the property for 200 meters until you find a track heading due south) which is about 1 km long and takes you around the back of the property. Bird watching OK, not everybody but for those twitchers among you, Beach Stone House is home to a host of gorgeous bird life including Crested Terns, White Ibis, Sacred Kingfisher, Butcherbird, Ground Parrots, Finches, Plovers and Sea Eagles (a pair nests on the property). Other Ideas The Noosa Visitors web site has current links and is a good starting place as are sites like Trip Advisor. A couple of things that we can definitely recommend (because we do them every time we stay!):
Noosa Bike and Walking Routes Follow this link to a useful map showing walking routes as well as road and mountain bike routes. |
Annual events around Noosa
Cooloola Recreation Area Follow this link to a map of walking and bike tracks through the park. Cooloola Great Walk This is a 100k+ (and very serious) hiking trail along the length of the park from Noosa to Rainbow Beach. If you are planning to complete this walk (or any activities in the park) please pan ahead, take the necessary precautions and guidance from the authorities before heading off. This link is a good place to start. Noosa North Shore Beaches Access to Teewah Beach is via the 1st Cutting (left out of the front gate, right at the main road and follow this until you reach the beach). permits are required to access the beaches and some tracks in the Cooloola Recreation Area. further information can be found here via qld parks - here. |
